Bloomsday Silver in Dún Laoghaire. The €100,000 sterling silver ‘Ulysses’ Tower which delighted visitors to Dún Laoghaire Library yesterday.From left: Don McManus fixing a GoPro camera, Maureen O'Rafferty (Dalkey) and artist Aidan Breen.The spectacular 2ft high tower was created by renowned silversmith Aidan Breen, who gave a special lecture on its Joycean heritage in the Lexicon Library in Dún Laoghaire yesterday. .The piece, commissioned in 2005 by the Dublin Assay Master, took over four years to complete and was inspired by the PENELOPE episode of Ulysses where Molly describes her first sexual adventures under a ‘moorish’ wall.
